The Westward Gundog Society's objective is “to assist in the training of Gundogs and to promote Field Trials and Working Tests”.  The training of gundogs is particularly important as it not only helps those who wish to train their dogs to a higher standard for the shooting field, it also introduces newcomers to the sport of tests and trials.

The Westward Gundog Society activities are mostly run in Devon.  Various training takes part through the summer.  A two day open field trial and novice trials are held for Retrievers, open and novice for any variety spaniel Trials, and open and novice cocker trials during the shooting season.  During the summer months open and novice working tests are held for retrievers and spaniels, all of which are affiliated to the Kennel Club.

New members are always welcome, forms are available for download on the Membership page.
